I have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. I have been married to my wife Vicki for 32 years. We live in Oak Grove now. Started to attend Hueytown football games last year for the first time since high school. Nice to be back.
Hey there friend.....sorry it took me a few days to get back to you.....Jared is doing great...he is home ...a miracle for sure......
How is Matt doing? I hope that things are going well for him......I will continue to pray for him and your entire family....
My brother, Tommy, had his kidney transplant Tuesday, so I am still at UAB quite a lot. He and his donor are both doing great.... Some of the same families are still sitting in the waiting area on 9th. My heart breaks for them....I try to check in on them when I am there.
When you spend time at TBICU it gives you a completely different view of what is and is not so important. Justin says that anytime you think you are having a bad day, come and sit on 9th floor for a while and you will realize how blessed you are....
I appreciate you coming over and sitting with me more than I can put into words....you were the one person who truly knew how I felt and what I was going thru.....Thank you very much.....
If there is ANYTHING we can do for you, Vicki or Matt, please let us know...
Love you all,
Dren
I was just wanting to message u back right fast while i was on and let you know that we are going to be having a little boy, Michael William. i am really excited and jeff is especially. i hope to hear from u soon.
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this, but there's been alot going on here, what with winter coming..like buying up bags of IceMelt crystals for the sidewalk and getting the car and house totally ready for the crap that's coming...Would you believe I've seen it snow here like just a little before HALLOWEEN? And when it snows, buddy,it snows. A foot overnight ain't considered bad here, and nothing shuts down! Anyway....
I don't know if an old drawing I did in high school would be worth too much these days..might get you 50-100 bucks from a couple people around B'ham that seriously collect my stuff. I snuck some art into your house (and everybody else's in Alabama) in 1995,haha...the cover of the March 1995-96 BellSouth phone book. It was really weird for a year there, seeing that piece of work everyplace I went.
Man,were you ever speaking the gospel truth about past good times and how we didn't know how good it was 'til it was gone! We resented being under the thumbs of teachers, parents, and principals back then..little did we know what it was gonna be like answering to the taxman, the gasman, the electricityman, the phoneman, the DMVman, the waterman, the mortgageman, the insuranceman, etc etc! We DID have alot of fun back then and alot of it wasn't as bad as we thought it was. Wouldn't it be nice now,if we could skip paying the mortgage for a month and just get 3 licks from a high school coach?
As for "the old bunch",I got 3 on this site that I've kept up with all these years..If I run into anymore,I'll let you know. David Cargile joined up a day or so ago and I just happened to catch him just as he signed up...He's in my batch of friends on my page if you haven't found him already. I think this site averages maybe 3 to 5 new sign ups a day so who knows who'll pop up!...I try to look at the main page at least everyother day to see if there's anybody new I recognize, but a few have slipped past me.
Well,I got an errand to run hear,so I'll holler at ya later...stay in touch, man!
Hi Tim & Vicki,
Talked to Donna last night. They are both glad Buddy's out of the picture and she's so excited over the new guy, he sounds great. Hope he makes something happen soon. Still waiting to celebrate. Vicki
How has everyone been doing? Good I hope. Jeff and I are doing great. We are really excited, we get to find out what the baby is next week, on the 8th to be exact. I am really, really, really, anxious. We've also decided on names, and I thought you'd like to hear them, I hope so anyway.
If it's a girl her name is going to be Mary Kathryn, Mary after my Grandmother on my dad's side, and Kathryn after my mom and I, that's both of our middle names.
If it's a boy, Jeff picked out the name Michael William which I love, it actually brought tears to my eyes when he came up with it, it just sounded perfect to me. Of course you know Michael is after "Pop", and then William is after Jeff, and my Grandpa on my mom's side and his Grandaddy Wes, and many other people on my side of the family.
I just thought you'd like to know the names, I hope that you like them, I'll let you know as soon as we know what it's going to be. Well, message me back.
Hi Tim, Met you at the courthouse, I'm Donna & Bobby's friend. It's been over 4 weeks with no decision. Donna's nerves are shot, she's working this weekend, it's just as well holidays are hard for her and I'm sure for Bobby. Hope to see you and Vicki at a celebration for Bobby soon!
Hey man! Good to see you're on the site and doin' so well. Nine grandkids, huh? I've only gotten as far as being an uncle. Anyway,I'll have been up here 5 years as of this coming October. My girlfriend grew up here in this town (but thankfully she's the most unYankee Yankee you could ever meet). We hope to head back to the Birmingham area in about 3 years or so.Before moving here I was living about 10 minutes north of Nashville.'88 to 2000 I was in Hueytown and1983 -1988 I lived in Santa Fe,New Mexico....so I've hopped around a little. Enough to know there ain't no ham like Birmingham! When I get back down there,I'll have to look ya up...maybe catch a HHS football game. Looks like you've got an AOL screen name...Im gonna buddylist you and you might just hear from me live on IM. So what are you doing these days?
Hey Tim. Nice to hear from you. Hope things are well for you. I still remember those good ole days back in school! Man how time flies. My son started Chelsea High school this year (9th grade). It brought back memories of my days in high school. We have been in Chelsea for about 7 years. We moved mainly to get me closer to my work. I work at EBSCO industries on highway 280. I have been there about 23 years. Still have family in Hueytown so I visit often. My wife Mary (Smith) graduated in 1977. Nice hearing from you. Take care.
