I left Hueytown to go to the big city of Nashville, Tennessee to play football for the Vanderbilt Commodores. I redshirted my first season and went on to be a four year starter for the Commodores. Unfortunately, I could not help them win more games. I was Freshman ALL-SEC and got Second Team ALL-SEC my junior season at the defensive end position. Prior to my senior season I was moved to middle linebacker and was elected as Defensive Captain. With no desire of playing professional football, I ended my career at the Blue-Gray All-Star Game in Montgomery. I graduated with a mechanical engineering degree.
My first job was designing cranes. I loved it. I got bored with that and moved on to designing specialized high speed automated assembly machines for a company called Wright Industries. Once I mastered that, I decided to chase the corporate ladder and become somebody with my skill set, so I hired into General Motors. I had a great career there. They paid me well over six figures but the only drawback was I traveled 8 days a week. My claim to fame there was the Saturn VUE. I was the Lead Engineer for that program. So everytime you see one of them on the road just know a Hueytown Golden Gopher was a major player with that vehicle. While at GM I went back to Vanderbilt and earned my Engineering Masters. Oh yeah, I got married to Sandra McNary she is also a Vandy Grad originally from Louisville, Kentucky. She is an Attorney. University of Florida Law. My wife is a wonderful person and mother that I truly "Adore" like the Prince Song. She supports me with everything I do. I treat her like the "Queen" she is.
Okay back to my story. My wife decided she wanted to have children so I had to figure out a way to stay home long enough to make some babies. So I started my own company. Soon after I did that we had Aaron, then Breanne and eventually Collin. During those years my business exploded. It grew to the point where I had to leave GM and do it full time. Today KMW Incorporated is a up and coming player in the automotive manufacturing sector with locations in USA, China, India and Korea.
I mentor many engineering students of all races, gender and nationalities Worldwide. I feel a need to put back, but that is just a calling that I have, and I love it.
Today I still live in CASHville but love being on the beach in California and Florida.
