Good thought. The Bible does teach though that God's greatest concern is not our safety, but His glory! In the end the hurts, pains, and heartaches of this world are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed. Ever seen End of t…

About Me:
Hey Guys,

What a great website! I miss a lot of you. Man does time fly!

It's been a wild ride since graduation night! I married a great girl in 1985, Tracy Otwell. We ended up with 2 boys, Richard and Casey. We moved down to Chilton County in 1991 and that's where things took a turn, not for the worse but for the better.

To make a long story short, God changed our lives. We moved in across the street from some folks that loved the Lord. They started inviting us to church but I had played that "game" before. After all I was a good guy, right? I was busy trying to make it as a professional bass fisherman and I wanted no part of what I thought they had to offer. They visited me every week for about 10 months all the while loving me and trying to help me. My life was a mess and they and I both knew I needed something I didn't have.

To bring this to a close, on August 30, 1992 I understood for the first time that I was lost and what I needed was not religion, but a relationship with a living God. I accepted Jesus Christ that night as my Savior. Immediately everything changed for the better.

I went home that night and had my wife sit on the bed. I got down on my knees and with tears in my eyes told her how I had been a sorry, selfish husband. I told her how I had not been a good father to our kids. Then I wept as I told her that with God helping me I was gonna be a better one from now on and one day I would buy a crown to put on her head because she deserved one for living with me all this time. After seeing what Jesus had done in my life she soon became a believer and the rest is history.

Since then I have preached and we have started churches and ministries all over the world. We have worked in Honduras, Nicaragua, Africa and all over the states. We are now in West Chester, Ohio starting a new church that includes an English church, A Spanish speaking church, a Bible college, a ministry to the homeless and those addicted to drugs, alcohol, etc. We have seen people that were destroyed and controlled by crack, meth, alcohol, and other things changed by the goodness of God! Nothing is more awesome than to see women stand up and say with tears in her eyes something like, "My name in Sandra and I used to be addicted to every drug and alcohol there is out there. I have been a cutter and everything else. And I am here today to share with you that Jesus has set me free from the bondage of all of those things and more. He has set me free!" That's better than any fish I could have ever caught! Praise the Lord for the good things He has done!

I would love to hear from my old classmates. I miss you all! I know I would never have been voted "Most likely to preach." "Most likely to cuss out a preacher" maybe. But then again, that's what is so awesome about God! He knows us and yet He still loves us.

Drop me a line and let me know what's going on.

God bless!

My Songs:

#1 - The Old Man Is Dead - This song tells my story. It sings about how I use to be and what I have become through a relationship with Jesus Christ. I hope you'll listen to it. It will be a blessing!

#2 - Indescribable - The title says it all!

#3 - Broken and Beautiful - This songs describes what goes on at our church we started. As people come, everything from meth and crack addicts to harlots and business people, many of them end up having an encouter they didn't count on. They meet Jesus AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL!

#4 - Walking Her Home - This song is dedicated to my grandmother - Mama Vines. Many of you would know her from volunteering at Pittman. She changed many lives through the love of God. She died Fall of 2007. I did her funeral and people came from everywhere. Testimonies filled the air from people that were illiterate she had taught to read using the Bible, others she had helped go through a troubled marraige, etc, etc. It was the most awesome funeral I had ever been to. I almost had to call time-out just so people could shout they were so full of joy over what she had done in their lives. Her and my grandfather were married more than 60 years and were true to the end where she met God in the nursing home. May this song bless you as it has me! And way to go Nana - you did it right!

Hey Rick, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful music with us. It was so good to see that each of your songs had a special meaning to you. I know that your grandmother was very proud of you. I too, had a very godly grandmother that was very special to me, and to everyone who knew her.
Love, Tammy

Hey Rick...I will definitely look you up if we ever make it up that way. I've never been to Ohio before. I havent been fortunate enough in my life to be able to travel the way I would like. God is so good to me...ALL the time! I cant imagine where I would be by now had he not drawn me back to where I'm supposed to be. I'm forever thankful for that. Not only did he draw me back, but my family got saved as well. He deserves so much more than I give most of the time. To God be the glory!! Have a blessed week!

Rick, thank you for your comment on my Blog, and for the book reference. I will certainly try to find it. I believe in the days to come we are only going to be strengthened in our faith by much prayer and fasting as directed in the book of all books, the Bible. May God Bless you and your precious family and your ministry! May you continue to be used of God to bring His lost sheep into the fold for His Kingdom's sake. God Bless!

Hi Rick,
Great to hear from you and how the Lord has totally changed your life. We were in Cincinnatti a few months ago and right now in Little Rock, AR. The Lord continues to bless this ministry with 140 concerts a year and Kathy speaks at Ladies Conferences/Events as well. We will lift you and your ministry up in prayer. May '09 be a year of outpouring for you. Keep in touch.

Hi Rick. This is Laura Owen. Great to hear from you. I didn't make the reunion, Wanda told me to check out the pictures. What church did you visit in McDonough. We are members of Salem Baptist. I had been teaching 5th grade SS. Now, with having two more little ones, I help out with the two year olds. That's different!! God is pulling me back to really teaching again. What an Awsome God He is. God bless

Angela (my sister in law) is doing well. I told Amy (my sister) on Saturday I needed to send you a message and thank you for your reply. I shared it with my husband's cousin who is also having the same feelings that I am. She is a little more bitter because she is caring for Angela's daughter (13) and she is seeing the effects of what it has done to her. The drug abuse and alcohol are just parts of bigger issues . There was neglect and mental abuse...but we are working through it. Thank you for your prayers . I will keep you up to date.

What an amazing story. I think I was meant to read your page today. Monday of this week my sister in law went into a rehab facility here in Birmingham. I am struggling with my feelings for her recovery. I want her to get better but she has put her family through so much and I have a lot of bitterness. And to be honest a lot of doubt... I do pray about it and I know that I am just as imperfect as she is and that we need to forgive her. I also know that through God all things are possible. The facility she is in is called The Love Lady and it is a faith based program. I guess reading about what you have seen in your ministry made me a little more optimistic about her recovery.
