I am a 1970 graduate---married to high school sweetheart Gary King ('69) in the fall of that year. I have worked a few jobs but have been mostly a stay at home mom and "Mi-mi". We have 2 children--Karen 37--a medical transcriptionist is married with 3 children --Sarah 10--Noah 8--Leah 5 and Matthew 31 who recently got out of the Marine Corps and is employed with Hoover City School . We have remained in the Hueytown area and have enjoyed living in the same house for 34 years. We are most grateful to God for all his blessings . We would love to hear from anyone who remembers us.
I enjoy gardening---reading---decorating my home--and painting from time to time.

Hi, Becky
Thanks for the "card." This is not a bad way to go considering the cost of mailing. It sounds like life is going well for you all. Pretty much the same for us, though we fear that Sandy may soon lose her job. Her boss sold the company and the new owner is getting rid of anyone over 45 pretty much. Sandy has stuck it out so that she is released. She doesn't want to leave the company she helped get going 20 years ago. We'll see. Otherwise, I'm busy serving the church and chasing fires as the fire chaplain. We got a new grandbaby in April - Ellie was born to Mandy - third child, first girl. She's REALLY going to be spoiled! Ya'll have a Merry Christmas!
hey,
I haven't been on here much lately cause mom had a mild stroke and has been in the hospital. i have also been sick with a bacterial infection in my stomach. caused from ulcers. i am better now.
I haven't seen sellers in years.
well you take care of yourself.
Ha-ha! It wasn't supposed to be a permanent investment - just supposed to hang on long enough to sell it like everybody else did and divvy up the money. Then the bottom fell out of the market, so we now have a condo with no good chance to sell it for a few years. Fortunately, with partners, the payments are very low for us, and the rent is taking care of it - especially with Pier Park shopping so close by, it is rented most weeks. We know a couple who has a penthouse at "Splash" in PC, and when it rents it is liable to be 3 couples with all their kids, and she is always having to fix or replace something (like a couch), so we are lucky ours is only 1 king bedroom and bunks. No big crowd to tear it up.
Hope y'all are enjoying this rain. We were needing it.
Hey, Friend! I had looked over my page and saw I hadn't made friends of a lot of my friends and figured I'd better catch up!
Bobby and I went to Panama City a couple of weeks ago - we have what we call our "unfortunate investment" there - our family (Bobby and I and his brother Scott) with 3 other partners. We went to put a new numeric lock on and hang around a few days. But it's turning out to be pretty good rental property. It's on the far west end of the beach where the new Pier Park shopping development is, so it's far away from the wild and crazy end. We can walk to Pier Park. I know what you mean about relaxing. We are on the 17th floor so we don't even hear any road noise, and have the greatest view of the pier and water.
We're doing fine, and glad to hear y'all are!
Thank you for the birthday wish. Hope all is well with you. Call me when you get a chance. I have something to talk to you about. cell 706-9641 or home 491-9052, work 328-9600
Good to "hear" from you! I resisted the internet for a long time, but I have to admit, it's nice to keep up with people you wouldn't be able to otherwise.
We think mom looks good, too. Thanks. Can't believe she' 80. She can't either! Take care.
Hey Mrs. King I was so glad to hear from you! I live in Graysville with my husband & our 4-yr-old daughter Leslie. We've been married for 16 years, and we bought this house (our first one) 8 years ago. My sister Karen has been married 15 years, and she has a three-yr-old boy. My parents moved away from Hueytown about 8 years ago, but my dad still works for US Steel.
My husband has been with at&t for 10 years now, so I'm able to stay home & do everything. We get to travel a lot, I take lots of pictures. Finally put a few up on this message board. Hope you like them!
Tell Karen I said hello.
Happy Birthday, America!
Love,
Crystal Russom
Hey, Becky
Thanks for the birthday wish. Didn't get to do much since it was on a Wednesday, but as a celebration Sandy & I went to a minor-league ballgame Friday night. We lost, but it was fun night. We're doing good. Got to spend Memorial Day weekend in New Market with the new granddaughter, Ellie. She's marvelous! Naturally.
Hope you and yours are well. - Darrell
