Good morning all:
It's with a VERY heavy heart I write this email. I have been up all night in prayer and thought...and now I beseech you for the same.
Many of you know or have read or heard me talk about Tucker Beam, the nine year old with his ...
"After all, tomorrow...IS another day!" ~~Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With The Wind...ends the movie, and reminds us tomorrow IS another day!
"It looks like it's been hosed down with Pepto Bismol!" ~~Sally Field as Mylynne in Steel Ma...
It's true. Tucker is type A+, and there is a need for that blood type, along with platelets. However, there's a need in general for blood donors, regardless of type. If you can help, please do so!
For the latest update on Tucker, visit his caring...
Misty: I have been waiting, like a child , for information an that dog. It was 1966, so it could very well, have been a cocker/chihuahua mix.I am very glad to know that it was a girl dog that left Harry frozen in his tracks as well as scared to death, and had to wait on the aid of a girl (me) to come to his rescue ! Yeah for Baby !!!!!
Harry and I were good friend's only. He lived down the street from me and my sister and we had known him like ... forever.
After he got married we ran into them at a club by the name of " The Boom - Boom Room " He dominated her every move and spoke for her ! I was shocked. He treated her like he was Tarzan and she was Jane. Well that was par for the course, for , our generation of men, but the only reason why Harry was allowed to hang with me and my friends, in the first place, was because he knew how to treat a woman or else he would have gotten beat up and kicked to the curb !
My husband (HHS Grad) was like that as well. That is why I divorced him after almost seven years. We get along fablousley now.
I was shocked by Harry showing up with those traits I was equally, shocked by the fact that he even nailed a woman. He was a virgin when we graduated. I thought to myself " as ugly as you are Harry, I would think that you would wait on her hand and foot"
Years after that he showed up at my sister's beauty shop, and ----he was still married to her!-----! I happpen to walk in at the time as he was trying to get my telephone number from my sister. ..to no avail.
My number is given to no one, by my parent's,sister or brother-in-law.
He ask me to come outside and proceeded to tell me what he had always wanted to do to me, all of those years. Man was he ever full of hisself. Not only was he ugly'er than ever, now he had a horse-shoe of kinkey hair from ear to ear ! With a few stray hairs sticking out of his bald head, here and there. AS IF !!! Also, it didn't help that this was the " Long-Hair-----Big Hair generation.
I ask him if he was still married and he said yes, didn't you hear me tell Glenda (my sister) ? I told his yes, I just wanted to make sure.
Mitsy that was not the time ,in life to be "told" by a married man or any other man, the plans that "he" had for us. I had just bee left for another woman, with stitches in my neck from a cancer operation.
I socked Harry in the eye and told him "to get a life"
He left my sister's parking lot, never to be seen by me again. He did however, my sister told me, that he peeped in the shop door once, and ask "is your sister here? I need a hair cut.
If I ever run into him again, I am going to shame him with the fact that he not only was frozen and frightned by a tiny dog. That it was A TINY GIRL DOG.
Later Girl,your friend
Rebecca Barnes-------Thank you

Ok, so I took long enough to "properly" fill this out! LOL As most know, I graduated in 1996. I'm so glad I found this site, because there are so many I miss from high school...so many I wish I'd been better about keeping in touch with.
I met a wonderful man in 2005; his name is Don, and he's originally from New Jersey. Yes, I know, a "Yankee," but at least his mom was from NC! LOL On August 5, 2006, we tied the knot at "The Chapel Somewhere In Time" in Hueytown, and could not have asked for things to go more perfectly!
The next day, we had an addition to our family...a beautiful whippet, Yashanti's All's Well That Ends Well, aka, Diana. You can see us traveling on weekends...to different shows around the Southeast as she works toward becoming a champion in the AKC world.
I also have ventured into my own business...I am an Independent BeautiControl Consultant; I bring the spa to YOU! =) If you feel stressed or that things are too hectic, let me know! I'll be happy to share my spa escape with you!
Don and I...along with my doberman, Lexie, and Diana, currently live in Vestavia, but have entertained thoughts of moving to Hueytown (home for me)...we'll see where things lead...
Love to all...and if you want to know more...please, ask!
