Lynn,
Yes I remember Donnie very well. My Mom told me about your loss right after it happened. I know words can't bring him back, but they can be of comfort to the family. Donnie was someone always well thought of and was always a friend, who came fom a very good family so I am sure you have the support from Mike and the rest of his and your family. My dad and Donnies dad work ed together. When my dad passed away, other than family Donnies dad Junior was the first I made sure knew. Again, My most heartfelt sorrow goes out to you and your family.

By the way did you go to McNeil?

Hey, girl! Glad you joined the site. It is fun catching up with people you haven't seen in years. I know I didn't get everything 100% when I did the "In Memory of" for Donny so please go in and make any corrections that you would like. Since I am not medical I was not sure of the spelling so put it in as best I could. I looked for you, Kelly and Rebecca at Flint Hill tonight at the Fall Festival but didn't see you. Hope you are all doing well. Talk to you soon!

Oh yeah, about the gray hair. The lady that's been cutting my hair for the last 30 years says that it's better to turn gray than to turn loose. I tend to agree with her!

Hi Lynn, Ellen is living with her husband and son in Franklin, TN. I don't know if you are aware of the challenges she's had to face over the years. She lost her first husband in a construction accident when her daughter was six months old. Her daughter and grandson were killed ten years ago when they were struck by a car on 15th Street Rd. She remarried about ten years after her first husband died. Her son is about 15 years old, I think. He's an extremely talented musician and will be playing trombone in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the band made up from top high school musicians from all over the country. That will be the band that immediatly preceeds Santa Clause at the end of the parade. She has a grandaughter that lives in Hueytown with her father and other grandmother. Ellen stays busy all the time and is one of the strongest people I know. There is nothing that she can't do. I wish that I had even half of her drive! We can catch up more later. I'm glad to hear from you. Richard

Yes! that was me!! It is so good to hear from you!!! I left UAB altogether in 2007 and worked for a private practice, but now I'm working from home! I have not heard from anyone in the pre-op clinic in a long time. Thank you for always being so nice to me up there, it was truly a rarity! The morale in that place was so low! It depressed me!!
