I graduated in 1964 and married H. L. Crim, a 1963 graduate, in 1965. I retired in June 2009. I have two beautiful girls. Dana Beasley, who lives in Hueytown and has children in Hueytown Elem (Lauren 10), Hueytown High(Kevin 15) and Hueytown High (Jordan 18). I am very proud of Dana and her husband Stephen. She is a stay at home Mom who does specialty cakes. Sherri Jones, my youngest daughter, lives in Austin, Tx and is a Senior Program Administrator for Texas University. Sherri and her husband Gabe have one child (Abby 3) and is expecting another little girl in January 2010. H.L. worked for Bellsouth for 35 years and retired 7 years ago. We have lived in McCalla for the past 5 years, but moved here from the Oak Grove area, where my daughters graduated. I attend many activities at Hueytown Schools to see my grandchildren. I enjoyed reading about the other 1964 graduates and hope that more of you will participate.

I was wondering if you have heard anything about the house. i haven't heard anything from kathy or got anything on the net. Mother ask me everyday if i have heard anything. randy has been over there several times and he said that somebody is taking the for sale sign and putting it at the front door. said it has been that way when he goes over to cut the grass.
Hey Lynn,
I don't think Penney's is ever going to open. I guess I'll just have to be patient and save my pennies for Penney's. HA HA!
Yes, I'm very much involved in THE HUB opposition. It is really a disaster waiting to happen. It will be within 150 feet of the elem. school and a retention pond will be right behind the school. Now who wants that for the children. We are busy trying to get the word out but so many people don't know, care or think it's a DONE DEAL. Well if we don't do something it will be a done deal. But it's not till the "fat lady puts a shovel in the dirt". Our next area meeting it the 17th at the elementary school at 7:00 pm and then the RR will put on what I have started calling a "smoke and mirrors show" meeting at the Bess. Civic Ct. from 4-7 on the 18th. It will only be an information meeting not an open forum type meeting where we can get any answers to our serious questions. Ya'll really need to get involved as this will affect this whole area. Your property values will plummett - who wants to buy or live in McCalla/Tarrant City? Already the real estate people are saying that contracts are being backed out of left and right for homes in this area.
We are not against the hub or jobs. Just don't put it in a populated area. There is plenty of open area out there near the railroads and interstates.
If you want more info call me - 477-9871 or go on-line to :

Where are you located in McCalla? We could meet for lunch or something sometime.
Hey Lynne,
It was great seeing everyone! The one's that don't come are really missing a lot.
Let's keep our eyes open - we're sure to meet up at Publix, Penney's(when it opens) or Target.
Beautiful pictures - you've got a great family! Maybe I'll get some of my pictures on soon.
hey lynn

No the house is not ready. I am flying in tuesday and we will have the sale friday and sat. and then hopefully by the time i fly back on the 23rd everything will be ready. I will call you when i get to alabama tuesday or wed. i know i am going to be so busy trying to get theings ready and my brother is taking off work 3 days to help me.
Lynn: Marjorie is getting married on June 7. She asked me if I knew anyone who did cakes. I told her that Dana does and she got very excited and wants the info to contact her!
Lynn, it was good to hear from you this p.m. I am back at work (teaching) and as usual things get busy. I also do work with the community theater here in Pulaski and seem to take on projects that require so much time. I am on the program planner and I hope we had our last meeting tonight until April. Small town "stuff" is interesting and fun. I have made good friends here in Pulaski, Tn. and really enjoy the small town life. It requires planning to go to a mall. I just don't know that I want to stay home yet. I hope you have a good New Year and that the economy picks up. My husband and I looked at an 1846 house last week here. It was built by a family that built 4 homes just alike about one mile apart. The others were purchased about 20 years ago and have been restored. I would love this place but not at 62. Husband is still talking about it but I am not. We would like land outside of town. We gave our samll farm and horse barn to our youngest. He is a walking horse trainer.
Our house was inside the barn. We had about 22000 square feet of living space. I loved it. Most will say did it smell bad? It did not and was the best design house we ever owned. All materials were commerical and I loved that. I had breast cancer and had to have a smaller space to rest so we moved to town and bought a small 1928 tutor cottage. It is cute but small. We are looking for something different but would like to keep this place to rent or just have a town house. Take care and write when you can. Mary Ann D Trimble
Lynn,
Thank you for your compliment. He is a wonderful guy and a powerful man of God. The fire was a negative, but God always turns what the devil meant for harm into something good. First, the fire happened when we were at church. Second, the small volunteer fire department in Brookside responded within minutes and did a superb job of extinquishing the fire and even cleaned up the mess. Next, the insurance adjuster was a great guy who recommended a local contractor whom we know and respect and he is already at work restoring the damage to "better than before". You and your mom need to visit sometime and hear Brad preach. I know you would be impressed. Good to hear from you.

Lynn, I was so happy to receive your message. And, yes, I will email rather than use this public area. Glad to hear your mom is doing well. Give her my love.
