About Me:
Oh my gosh! Where do I begin? (Thanks Jen for sharing this website with me!) After graduating from Hueytown (1989), I went to nursing school at Samford U. Almost half-way through nursing school, I married Charlie (Fanning). Our first daughter, Kayla, was born late in 1991. Later went back & finished nursing school. In Summer, 1995, our 2nd daughter, Kelsey, was born. Charlie & I moved to Pelham (from Pleasant Grove) in 1996. He & I divorced in 2000. I then began working full time (I had been working flexi/part time for about 3 yrs.) as a surgical nurse. I was a single, working mom for about 2 yrs. when I met my husband, Richard, at The Church @ Brook Hills. We met in Feb. 2002, & married in Dec. 2002! (Carol, do you remember that day?)
I quit working as an RN in 2004 to stay home & keep the books for his (now our) business. He sells mining equipment & has been running his own business for about 15 +/- yrs.
We moved to Alabaster in 2003 & have lived here ever since. The girls go to school at Kingwood Christian School. (& have since 1st grade). Kayla is now a Junior, & Kelsey is in the 7th grade. They both play softball for their school - Kayla plays on Varsity, & Kelsey plays on JV. (They are both pretty darn good -if I do say so myself!)
On Feb. 28, 2004 Richard & I learned we were pregnant . (oops! Thus our son's nick name: Boo Boo!) He really is known by that name too!
On Feb. 29, 2004 @ 9:30 am, we lost my precious, wonderful father (my idol & my hero) to cancer & emphysema. My sister, mother & I were literally sitting on the bed with him, holding his hand. I didn't tell him we were expecting a baby. I knew he would be sad that he would not get to see/know my 3rd child, his 5th grandchild. Now I understand what people mean when they say a part of you dies when you lose a parent (or person) that you are that close to. I will never be the same.
Boo-Boo's given name is really Richard Haywood Abel (Ricky). He is named after both grandfathers that he never met.
As you can imagine, with such a huge age difference between the little one, & his sissy's, he is spoiled rotten! The 3 of them adore each other-thank goodness!!
Its great to see all of your pictures, & hear how everyone is doing!
Hope to hear more from everyone soon!!
I think the older I get, the more I think about all our old, crazy times!! They were great!!

Small world!! I love Alabaster and Grande View. We've been here about 4 years. Thompson is a pretty good school system too. I hope you get to come to the reunion. It should be a lot of fun.

I sure do. I see Christi sent you the info for the reunion. Are you planning on coming? I know that Kara, Jill, Christi, Pam Jones and some of your other old friends are planning on it....it should be fun...even if Tab can't be there with us. I hear he is doing a lot better but still will need to be in the hospital at least a few more weeks.
