- I own Joyce's Formal Boutique and Salon for 21 years have always lived and worked here in my hometown. I am very lucky to get to work in an atmosphere with the most beautiful women in the south and enjoy Evey minute of it. We have had 4 Mrs Alabama's from Hueytown and several National winners like Carla who won Miss Teen USA not counting all of our local High School winners and to top that off we have had 3 Mrs. America's in 5 years. This is year we crowned Miss Alabama Amanda Tapley we did her from head to toe!!! I feel very blessed. Come stop by just to see one of the oldest Holmes in Hueytown, I always called it the Self home when I was young and walked to school. We are the 5th house on the right from HHS. joycesformals.com

- Hey Joyce! Remember me? We use to play softball and my mom and your mom were friends for years. I met your dad after all these years at Galaharria Rest. (mispelled, lol) last year. I met with some old friends there and he and your step mother were there for dinner. I am working for the City of Pleasant Grove now. Been there for two years in June after leave The City of Hueytown for 17 years. I work in the Municipal Court.
I pass by your beautiful house/shop on my way to check on mom who has dementia now. It seems I am always in a hurry and have been wanting to stop in and see you. Mom has to have a sitter stay with her four days a week and the rest of us kids have to drop in on her in between to check on her. She is not far from going into Self's Nursing Home. We are holding out as long as we can on that.
I have two grown children and two grandson's now. Both grandson's are 90 days apart in age. Braydon is 10 mos. old and Will is 7 mos. old and they are so precious to me.

- hi joyce, i was wondering if you were still in my dream house. (just kidding). i used to walk by that house every day twice a day. i always dreamed of living there. you fixed it up really nice. you look great. what is your secret? is your mom and dad still living? you very fortunate if they are. my mom passed in '90 and my dad in '97. but i know where they are and i know i'll see them again. well keep up the good work. you have some beautiful pictures. hope to hear from you soon. shelia

- Joyce, what a small world!! My daughter has been getting dresses for my granddaughter for several years, but I had no idea it was your shop. Her name is Beth Forshee Hollis and her daughter's name is Karlie. Karlie has won every time she has been dressed from your shop..
