- I'm a retired HS Principal (Dora HS) I have 2 children and 6 grand children. My wife of 40+ years is Rebecca Campbell of Sumiton, AL - retired Principal of Sumiton Christian School. Class of '66. I married in '68, served in the Air Force '69-'73, graduated from UAB in '76 and began teaching in '77. I lived in the Dora/Sumiton area (except AF years) from '67 til 2007 when I moved to Fairhope.
I'd like to hear from some of you '66 "jokers" especially you McNeil JH people.

- Joe - Randy Miller here - Hope you remember me as I remember you and some of the McNeil guy's. Life for me has been quite an adventure! Great job,wonderful wife (Davine Fuller C/O 65) married 41 yrs., 2 good boys and now 4 grand children! Health problems are typical for guys my age so I won't go there. I saw where you are in Fairhope - Davine and I go down to visit her sister a couple of times a year - they live on the Fish River on the south east side of the bay (Dorthy & Dickie Brunson) she's a retired teacher & he's a housing contractor/developer. I also saw where you had some health issues and I hope and pray things are going better for you. You and James Earl ask about Davy Erwin (Dave and I were good friends in HS). I talked to him (Dave) about a year ago and he retired from the B'ham Fire Dept. and now teaches at a 2 yr. college. I was also a fire fighter but not structural (I retired as a wildland fire management officer for the US Forest Service and traveled a lot thru out the country).One more short memory tester - do you remember the strip pit at Green Pond and did you ,Davy,Danny Tichnell,myself and about a dozer others skip school in Jan. 66 and jumped in that pond in 40 degree weather !!? - Joe, I am so sorry about your illness but we serve and awesome God and I will be praying for you to get a healing that will shock all the doctors. I will make sure you are put on our prayer list at church and you know that having a bunch of Church of God saints praying for you can certainly change things. I wish I could get down and see you I was looking at some old pics of us just the other day, you, me, Roger, Butch and even Kenny Splawn. I have some cherished memories. I am subbing at Hueytown a lot and it brings back things and I just day dream. I am fine physically but I still am having financial problems due to losing my job but God will sustain me.

Barbara Shaw Mayhall said… - He's Jonathan Mayhall. He lives on Highland Dr. in Jasper. He is a really great guy, plays in a band, is also a pastor at Graysville Church of Christ. He has a great since of humor and we sometimes laugh because you never know what he's going to look like. Sometimes with a beard, long hair, then very short hair the next time you see him. He's his own man. All his students love him.

- I looked through the Dora High School Year Books and even if the smile dwindled, you still hair!!!!! That didn't seem to go, I can only imagine what toll teaching and being principal for those years took!! Only kidding, I know you must have fond memories of all the lives you touched during those years and I'm sure they loved you. My brother-n-law has been a professor at Beville State (Walker College) since the early 80's and loves his students but he said that there are times when he has burn out from the same thing day in and day out. He teaches psychology and of all the students we have met, they thought he was awesome. Our son went there before the school changed from Walker and loved the fact that his uncle was his professor. Anyway, didn't mean to get so deep, but it was good seeing the pictures, thanks, and I'll talk to you later,
