We now have our second grandson, Memphis Lee Guthrie, son of Stacy and Jeremy. Last May, Ryan and Jaclyn became the proud parents of Jackson Wilson Holmes. We are truly blessed.
Jimmy and I are both retired from HHS; Jimmy in '05 and I in '07. In June of '05, we were married in Mentone, AL. We moved into a new house built by Brian Youngblood in Blount County on 10 acres in Nov '07. My mother moved there with us into a guest house attached to the back of our house. There is a large private lake with bass and other fish and deer in the woods. We love to fish and Jimmy hunts. We have a red barn and 2 paso fino horses along with 2 Jack Russels, 2 cats that are walk ons, and 4 kids that visit. Our menagerie was increased last week (8/23/08) by 3 beautiful kittens.
Good to hear from you. Retirement !?(: We are getting close. I plan to do my swan song as soon as we get Paul out of school which will be in July '10. Shirley will probably follow. Sounds like ya'll have retired to a paradise--fish/hunt solitude/grandkids. Jimmy I remember us fishing at a retreat somewhere on Hwy280 many years ago. That was fun. Lets stay iin touch...........david
Hi. Thanks for the response ---- that was fast. I have a nephew in Panama City, Florida and he asked that I join this HHS website. Your comment reached me quickly.
To answer your question.... I was graduated from graduate school at the University of Arkansas in 76. Took a job in Tulsa with an international accounting firm with the intent of staying there two years and then move back to Alabama. I'm still in Tulsa. So much for that plan. :-)
Since November, I've made 10 or 12 trips to Florence, AL. to see my folks since their health is failing.
I remember Linda Stone very well..... not sure I know Jimmy Holmes.
Again, thanks for the welcome and response.

You're very welcome. Good to hear that all is happy again. I would be more that glad to help in any way, if you ever think that I might could down the road. Take care, Deb
Hi Lynda, My name is Debbie Swann I graduated "74 and had horses for many many years but unfortunately I don't have any now. But it is still VERY much in my blood and don't ever see that changing. Even at my age I still dream about them. Anyway, listen, you asked about the bridling thing and I was wandering...........have you had his mouth looked at? There could be something going on in there especially if this is a new behavior. As for the stepping as you try to mount, you might try have him facing a fence or the side on the barn to block his way. The other thing you might try is to have him stretch out first. By the time he gets his back legs up under him as you are mounting you would already be in the saddle.
Hope this helps........Deb
I forgot to be a little more specific on my page but I am still working and I will retire as soon as possible. Debbie retired in 06 after 33 years at UAB. The last 10 were spent as a nurse practitioner with Dr. Pacifico with heart patients. The sons are still single. Stay in touch please.
Great to see the both of you. It's good to refresh past memories and the people you spent them with with. Sorry we're just getting back to you but Debbie and I are just getting back from Mexico on our yearly wedding anniversary trip. We will be in touch again soon.
it was good to see you both. i enjoyed it so much that i am going to try to plan to be down next year also!! i have lived in denver area since 1976 and absolutely love it. i also rode a trail bike in my late teens, early 20's but gave it up when i started having kids. about 5 or 6 yrs ago i took some classes and purchased a honda shadow 750. my husband rides also and we have fun on our bikes when the weather permits!! i like horses but have always been petrified of them - had a good friend fall off and had a head injury. keep in touch, and if you ever get out this way you are welcome to stay with us.
Hey Linda, Thought of you guys today. We took Bob's parents back to Mentone for the afternoon.
I saw that Joe Earley joined this site, I told him about the 66 page. Sure wish we could the word out and get alot more of the class on here. There are so many that I wonder what happened to!
