Seinfeld, aye? Not the first time I have heard that. My brother-in-law had a picture of me and my wife in his college dorm room, and someone asked him why he had a picture of Jerry Seinfeld on his night stand. Maybe subconciously that is why I started wearing a goaty and mustache. I'd like to think my head finally caught up with the size of my mouth. I guess the lead singer position for Aerosmith is out of the question now. God bless. Jeff

Wait a minute, Jerry Thomas? Grow roses? Man, I can't be sending a line to the Jerry Thomas I know. The Jerry Thomas I know was, how do you say . . . . . creative with things. I hope you and your family is doing fine. Drop me a line or two when you can, until then "PEACE".

Hey Jerry,
I should have signed up for that type of delayed enlistment program in the Air Force. The Army paid you to go to school in uniform and recruit? I was on the delayed enlistment program at the beginning of our junior year. My recruiter didn't mention anything about earning money by helping to recruit. I probably wouldn't have been willing to give up my summer to go to basic training, and I was going active duty anyways, so it probably wouldn't have worked. Did you recruit many of our classmates? You may remember Tina Dorough who graduated with us. She and I were stationed together at Keesler AFB ('87-'89) in Biloxi, Ms. She was in the medical field and I was a drunk, so we only saw each other in passing going to and from the chow hall.
I don't specifically remember you being in uniform, but you always seemed like a military man. Ironically you are still a man in uniform as a fireman. Thank you for all your service to country and community.
Are you and Terri related? I don't see the resemblance. :-)

God Bless,
Jeff Denson

Thanks for the advice. How long were you in the military? Where you Army? One of my four roommates was an Army chemical decon guy named Ford. After scud attacks he would suit up and check for chemicals. I remember he loved Mariah Carey, he loved baseball (one of his sons he named Nolen Ryan Ford), and he collected ceramic wire ties. The type of old wire ties that you would find at the top telephone poles.

Hey Jerry,
Yeah, my memory is a little fuzzy from high school too, but that is another story.
I'm glad you made in back from the desert safely, and unscathed emotional, for the most part. I'm happy to see you are doing well and have a great big family. Congratulations. We want to have a few more kids too, at least one more.
After Desert Storm my scalp was dry and peeling for a year. All I did for six months was man the armory 12 hours a day seven days a week at the Saudi's version of the Pentagon (M.O.D.A*), eat six times a day, lift weights, run, swim, and sleep in a three bedroom apartment with four other guys (I had my own room). I got my bones jarred a few times during scud attacks, and two Saudis manning a 50 caliber (talking all night) and the loud speaker just outside my bedroom window on the the third floor was annoying at 4:30AM every morning calling the locals to prayer, but other than that I had it pretty good. I did have a few uncomfortable flashbacks for the next few 4th of Julys. Plush is a word you could use to describe my circumstance, after all, I was Air Force.
What's your secret for roses? I planted three bushes of roses, one died, another is half dead, and the third is growing all over the place.

God bless you and your family,
Jeff Denson

I was pretty proud that it even got published, Jerry. I'll have to say that I admire all of the Firefighters and paramedics and the job they do everyday. Keep it safe.

Hi Jerry,
You may remember me. My hair was longer and I was a lot skinnier. You have a great looking family. I saw on Lee's page that you mentioned you have a horse at Roper's place. I was in town a couple of weeks ago and drove down Roper Dr. Lots of memories on that farm. I live in Texas now. My mom worked at Roper's Barber Shop for many years, so we hung out with the Roper family when I was in elementary school.
God bless and keep you and your family. Be safe fighting fires.
