After graduating from HHS in 1989 I attended Samford University. There I joined Phi Mu Fraternity and served as Corresponding Secretary my senior year. Those were 4 of the best years of my life - so much fun. I graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition Sciences. After graduation, I completed a 1 year post-graduate internship in nutrition at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. It was there, that my college boyfriend, Eric, proposed. We married in December of 1994. I finished my Masters degree in 1999 in Health and Health Promotion from UAB. (I highly recommend doing this BEFORE kids! )
We have 2 children, Rebecca (11) and Ethan (6) and 2 dachshunds, Libbey and Phoebe and a border collie named Ruger. We also have a guinnea pig named Smudge.
Eric loves to hunt and is a member of a club called The Oaks in Greene County, Alabama. Rebecca shot her first deer in the fall of 2006. Ethan's will be this year, as promised by his dad when he agreed to play little league football.
Yes, that was us you may have seen on the tv around Iron Bowl time in 2006. We won an essay contest (thank you Mrs. Lindsay!) through Jox radio and had our home painted orange and blue and those other 2 colors from Oct. 30th through the Iron Bowl. Of course, then it started raining so our home wasn't repainted until the week of Christmas!!!!! At one time, our home was about 8 different colors! We also received a 5K gift card from Home Depot which we spent remodeling our kitchen and updating Eric's "man room" which has now become the House Divided room.
September of 2007 we surprised the kids by taking them to Disney World for a week. They thought we were going bowling! We spent the night in Gainesville and the next morning they awoke realizing we were in Florida and surprised them with a bag of goodies preparing them for the week at Disney. It was as if there were 4 kids in the car instead of 2. It was a tremendous time and a great opportunity for our family to spend valuable time together.
Rebecca made the Allstar Extremes competition cheerleading squad in November 2007 and they will begin competing this fall. She's a straight A student (3 years straight as of May 22nd)and served on the Student Council - something her peers voted upon - her last year in intermediate school. She started middle school in August and Ethan started 1st grade - class clown - and plays football for the Thompson Warriors. He's a lineman for the offense and defense and is refered to as "the brick wall". He loves it because he gets to "knock people down without getting in trouble for it" to quote him! Rebecca is cheering her last year for the Thompson Youth League as well and enjoying it. Life is just really hectic between everything!
I work part time as a dietitian at Brookwood Medical Center. I also sell AVON and have a fairly large client base. Eric is in sales at a company called Precision Graphics. If anyone ever needs any printing done, please let us know! Also, if you'd like to buy AVON or need a new representative that really tries to cater to her clients, let me know!
Also - if you ever want to pull up our House Divided and see what was on the news just go to YouTube and search House Divided, Auburn, Alabama. It'll take you right to it!
Hey Jen! It's good to hear from you. You have a great looking family. Your kids are GROWING! We still have the Christmas pic when they were much younger. It seems like yesterday. I haven't heard about the reunion. I guess I assumed we weren't having one. Please send me the details.... I hope to see you there...
Hey Stranger! Just wanted to drop in and say hi. Haven't talked to you in quite a while...We need to do lunch and catch up. Your wonderful War Eagle Fight song brings back so many memories of football games.. Do you remember when your grandmothers purse got taken away by the Tennessee Goal Post when we were at the Tennessee/Auburn game? Your poor dad had to chase it down. I still can't believe he got it back. LOL! We sang Grandma Got Run Over by a Goal Post all night!!!!! Those were some GREAT memories!!! Keep in touch and let me hear from you...take care
Hey girl. We lost another one. We played tough though. It was 18 to 14. We played Tracy Corley's son's team (Helena). It's rough loosing all the time. Seth took this one hard. It sure is frustrating for everyone that's for sure!! I hope you guys are doing better than we are!!

Alright...we lost another one. We are now 1 & 3. We've got to get it together soon! Seth is doing well though. I am proud of him and how much he has learned so far. He loves it so much, he still comes home from these games happy which is great I guess. Keep me posted on how you guys are doing.
That is fantastic!! Go Ethan!! I'm glad some of our Warriors are doing well! I hope we get it together soon. We have trouble with penalities like holding and moving early...off sides. I hope we fix this soon so we don't have a loosing season. Let me know how the rest of your games go.
We played Vestavia last night and lost 6 to 0. Our defense did great, our Offensive Line needs some work. It was a bad blow to the morale for the Coaches and parents and most of the boys I think. We play Pelham at Home next week. I hope that goes better!
We lost 20 to 12 against Oak Mountain Red this past Thursday. Believe it or not or Defense did a great job, or it would have been a lot worse. Our boys are still trying to learn about penalties...holding, offsides ect. That's what keeps getting us in trouble. Seth personally had a good game. He jammed his thumb during the 2nd quarter but kept playing. It still hurts him, but there's nothing we can do for a jam like that. It will just have to get better on its own in a few days I guess. We play Vestavia tomorrow night and they are supposed to be a really good team. I think just about everyone on our schedule is supposed to be awesome so we'll need all the good luck we can get all season!! Talk to you again soon.
Don't you just love picture day for boys!! Football pictures for our team of 22 boys, each with individual pictures then the group in all took 20 minutes tops! Seth got mud on his pants and I didn't even care. If it had been cheerleading pictures we would have been there over an hour for sure so all the Mom's could pose their girls just so and have atleast 2 re-dos to be sure to get the most perfect picture possible....drama, headache!! You've got to love boys and Football!!!!!! We play Oak Mountain Red tomorrow night. Wish us luck!!
