Well, as you all know, I graduated with you all in '88
I now live in Maine, with a 9 year old boy. He is my world, as he wasn't supposed to survive the birth. I have been married for 12 years now to Randi (Pickens) Ferren.
To go on a bit about my son, we almost lost him at birth. He had a disease called
Hydrops Foetalis, and at the time, it was rare that a baby would survive this. If any of you are still in contact with my brother Tracy, he can tell you more about it.
But, we were in the right place at the right time. He was born at St. Vincent's, and the Dr's and staff there, (again, thanks Jessica Raybon Taft, and Jenny Gullahorn Skelton) took such good care of him.
Well, needless to say, he survived, and is the best little boy anyone could ask for. We literally thank God for him everyday, and he is truly a blessing. It is a parents biggest fear to hear a Dr say that your baby won't survive, but to actually hear it, well, words can't express how it immediately impacts you. The fear that you will lose, someone you just met, and love with all your heart, is unimaginable. But that is what I was told. My brother worked with infants, and he was familiar with the seriousness of this disease. When I saw him break down, is when I realized it was happening.
We requested prayer from everyone. Even "Rick and Bubba" came to visit, and pray with us, and for that, I am forever grateful.
I am a licensed Massage therapist currently, and I do webdesign and coding on the side. As well as being a Manager of a Few Dunkin Donuts here in Maine.
I coach wrestling, football, baseball, and teach guitar.
I actually created and devoloped the tackle football program in the town I live in. Starting with 5th and 6th grade and expanding. This year, we now have a Hogh School football program. What an experience it has been!
Hey Jeff, I vaguely remember the experience in the batting cage, and I hold no grudge, ha ha. It sounds like you are a blessed man. I am still coaching and loving it. I pray God will continue to bless you and your family.
Hey to add to you conversation with Lee remember I was a big picture taker back then I have a ton of photos from that party including you handcuffed to the pole right before the cops came. Funny fun memories.
Well we just got back yesterday from our trip to London England & Paris France. This was our first trip out of the country ever very interesting and fun. But we are glad to be home. I am going to sleep now for 2 days. Talk to you later.
Hey Jeff - Absolutely I remember you. We had some good times at Frank House "CC" for sure. That is an amazing story about your son - I am glad to hear he is doing well. We just had our first child 6 months ago (yeah I guess I am a late bloomer) and it has been amazingly great - what a life changing experience. Every day is a blessing.
