Graduated in '74. Went to UAB for two years. Then went to Florida College, a small Bible college near Tampa, for one year. After financial and scholastic burnout, I worked around Birmingham and Tampa for 7-8 years. I then moved to Chattanooga to care for my aging grandparents.
After my grandfather's death, I met a young lady and married. We had two wonderful kids, a boy and a girl. In Jan 2005, she decided she wanted to 'party' and left. Our divorce was final in May 2006.
I am now looking into going back to school and finishing my degree. I'm looking into becoming a... no heart attacks now, TEACHER... I should have done this years ago, but I carefully considered my options before making a decision... Well, any excuse is better than none! :) In all seriousness though, I probably would not have been as suited for it back then as I am now.
I would LOVE to hear from anybody from HHS, especially from around the years I and my sisters went there! Y'all yell any time! (button56@netzero.net) If anyone has a scanner and can scan my picture in from one of the annuals, email it to me and I'll stick it in my pictures here. Thanks!
LATER, Dudes and Dudettes!!!
HI JAMES, GREAT TO HEAR FOM YOU AND YOUR NEW PLAN FOR YOURSELF...YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON HAPPINESS---SO GO FOR IT. I ALSO WANTED TO TELL YOU THAT I NOTICED ZONA DYLE ON YOUR NOTES.
ZONA IS MY FAMILY, SECOND COUSIN, AND WE WERE RAISED BY EACH OTHER. IN FACT I STILL LIVE BY HER MOM AND DAD, SMALL WORLD.......TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF LATER, DIANE

Hi James, I don't know if you remember me. I still have that "little turtle" you gave me. I know you will be a great teacher. I retired from teaching last year. I taught math to middle school kids and loved every moment of it. The diabetes made it hard to continue teaching and it was a very hard decision to retire. I still teach a little. I am an assistant scout master for a boy scout troop (my son made Eagle Scout) and have been for involved in scouts for 14 years and get to teach merit badges. I can tie a mean knot. I believe you knew my husband Dan. We've been married 34 years. Sorry to hear about your divorce. Keep in touch and I looking forward to seeing you at the reunion. Martie
Glad to hear things are going so weel for you. I can see you as a teacher...molding and shaping our youth. It's amazing how much has changed since we were the "youth".
Hey James, wow! and we are both still alive! Never pictured age 53 and gray hair, but seems there is life afterwards. We are in the Decatur area and have been in North Alabama since 1983. I have a 23 yo daughter, married, and 19 yo son. Both enjoyed marching band days as we did. My son moved on to football and did quite well. Take care, Tim Henslee
I'm glad you are doing well. We live next door to Mother and Daddy. Daddy will be 90 in August. My step-son lives with his mom and step-dad in Odenville a block from the high school. So well go to Odenville two weekends a month to pick up Christopher. It was good to hear from you. Take Care.
Hey James,
Thanks for the compliment. I hope you can make it to the reunion. I'm sure Tab will send out info as soon as something is worked out. Our middle son has just finished his 1st year as a teacher at Pelham High School & has really enjoyed his job. Good luck to you!
