Gina, Do they have any Government cheese in those care packages? I'd buy a couple of them just for that. You ever had any? It is the best cheese ever!!! Bill

This program is a Godsend for the elderly, too, Gina. Angel Food Ministries also has "Elderly Boxes" containing frozen, well-balanced dinners that are wonderful for our aging loved ones who may have difficulty preparing a meal. Thanks so much for ad…

About Me:
I'm married to a wonderful man named Scott Pennington. Between us we have 2 beautiful girls - Morgan (8) and Kalee (7). I'm a stay at home mom for the moment, but I'm doing a lot of volunteer work to keep me busy.

Right now, my biggest project is working with Angel Food Ministries to help people in our community. Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. Generally, one unit of food costs around $30 and assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single person for almost a month. The food is all the same high quality you could purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe. Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken, pork and fresh fruits and vegetables. Comparison shopping has shown that the same foods at local grocery stores would cost from $60 - $100.

There is no limit to the number of units an individual can purchase, and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to meet. ANYONE can participate. Angel Food Ministries also accepts U.S. Food Stamps. Online ordering and credit/debit card payments are now available through the Angel Food Ministries website at www.angelfoodministries.com.

Orders are usually placed and paid for during the first two weeks of the month. Distribution day is usually the last Saturday of the month from 8-10am. NHBC is set up so that on distribution day you just pull up to the back of the church, give your name and volunteers will put the food into your car...you never have to get out of your car or stand in long lines waiting to pick up your food. You can even pull up to our reorder station and volunteers will come to your car and take your order for next month while you're here. Picking up your food usually takes less than 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me at ginab1975@aol.com or 491-9269 for more information.

Hi Gina,
Are you by chance related to Mike Pennington, class of 1974? He was in my class, and I missed seeing him at our recent reunion.
Many thanks,
Debbie
