I've been married to the former Jackie Patterson (a Hueytown gal from the class of 1980) for the past 27 years. We have 2 sons. Alex is 22 and a Senior at Jacksonville State University. He is a pitcher on the JSU baseball team. He is 6'6" and 200 lbs. Eric is 19 and is a sophomore at Tulane University in New Orleans. He got a football scholarship and is an offensive tackle. He is 6'7" and 305 lbs. I don't know how they got so big.
My brothers David, Jason and I own and operate Jewelers3 (retail) and Global Liquidators (wholesale). I've been in the jewelry business since the summer of '75. I really don't know much else.
Before moving back to Birmingham, Jackie and I lived in Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; Cincinnati, OH; Dix Hills (Long Island), NY and Jupiter, FL. We were gone from the area for a total of 14 years. An assortment of jewelry jobs took us to these various locations, each one better than the last. We started our own business about 12 years ago and our income went straight in the toilet but it has been and continues to be very enjoyable. We liked living in all these places but there is no place like home.
That's a shame! My mom and I were very fond of him. Do you know what he is doing now? Did he decide to go into the ministry? The last thing I knew is that he had gotten married, and that has been some time ago.
Hi Frank, I decided to take a look at my old annual and just realized that you were class president! That must have been a really fun time for you. Actually, I think it's a good thing that you put on some weight because you were pretty thin back in those days :). Hey, by the way, do you by chance know Rusty (can't remember his last name) who was a jeweler in Hoover? It's been years since we've seen him. My mom used to buy nice pieces from him.
Hi Frank, please correct me if I am wrong, but my memory tells me that I knew a Frank Jones in high school who was tall, thin and blonde, and with a very charismatic smile. Are you the same person that I remember? You were a year younger than me. Also, I had a brother who graduated in 1976, David Bledsoe, who played the drums.
Yes, that was quite a while ago. Hope all is well with you and your family. Have you have any contact with Mark lately. It's been several years since I saw him out. I have made contact with Leah via facebook.
Hey, Frank! I know you too! Like I told Mike Lewis, the memories are kind of vague after so many years. Did we go to Pittman JHS together? And did you work at Golbro, too? I got out of Jewelry Management after a move to Dalton, GA in 1985. I knew I had hit my peak in working for someone else (just didn't have it in me to play their politics!), and wasn't willing to accept the risk or venturing out on my own. I got into trucking, bought my first truck in 1987, and still going strong.
Hi back! Wow, out of school for over 30 years. I used to think 30 was old. You have a nice looking family. I'll try to make time to put a few photos up.
