- About Me:
- I have been married to Mike Lewis (HHS '73) for 29 wonderful years and we have 2 children. Our daughter, Amanda graduated from Hoover, graduated on the dean's list from The University of Alabama and received a grant from UAB and earned her Master's, she teaches Special Education at Helena Elementary. She married Kourey Gibbs in May of 2009 and we are thankful for a wonderful son-in-law also. Our son, Matthew was born on his sister's 9th birthday. Matthew graduated from Spain Park and is currently a Phi Kappa Psi at The University of Alabama studying History, his favorite. Having our children be Hoover/Spain Park rivals was interesting at times but Mike and I are still purple and gold all the way, they have heard the H-U-E-Y-T-O-W-N chant a million times! We love spending time with our granddog, an English bulldog named Cornelius but we call him "Biscuit" and grandkitty named "Zeus" for God of the Greeks. Our daughter is a HOOT....for those who know her Dad, then only imagine! Matthew's just goofy but he's a good goofy! Quality time is time spent with my family and friends, we laugh a lot and that's a good thing! We are very fortunate to have generous family and friends with beach condos and lake houses that we love spending time with and do so a lot. Our fall time revolves around the Alabama football schedule and we have many friends that, as a family, we tailgate with from all over the country. We really have like a city of tents (many families) with most of the modern conveniences. Some want to add a pool for the hot early games others want to build so we don't have to haul. Amanda found a chandelier a few years back for our tent and of course her Daddy hung it right in there....Mr. Mayer Electric. Over the years I've had various jobs but was lucky to mostly be a stay-at-home Mom and homemaker. We go to a great church, Double Oak in the wonderful Town of Mt. Laurel in North Shelby County. We are now looking to move out that way with Mike's work in Sylacauga. He says he wants a "outdoor kitchen" and I think that's a wonderful idea! He also lovingly says I'm neglecting my wench work because of this addictive site that HE told ME about!
