I did the army thing for a while finishing out with the Army Reserves Did my time and tours with Granada and Honduras which was a adventure as well as the country of Panama, I got out of the regular army and went into the Army Reserves as a military police instructor at Maxwell Gunter Air Force base in Montgomery where I retired from , I now live in the lovely Sunshine state of Florida in the panhandle after Leaving Alabama Police Departments in the Montgomery area, I got stupid and got back into law enforcement here in Florida after not being able to find enough to keep me busy during the day, and just loving the job, I have stood at the edge and stared fear in the face and laughed. In my career time, I have been shot, stabbed and been in some car wrecks I should have never walked away from, God watches over fools. I am married to Kimberlee Miller, a 27 year old redhead from Texas whom is also an officer and is wonderful, woman. I have 7 children and the oldest are married or out making their own way in life.
My oldest son is in the military in Iraq for his third time. I now work in the ghetto of Panama City for the Springfield Police Department as a patrol Sergeant this place is full of some of the stupidest people I have ever met in my life, and crack heads, this place is full of them. Life here is always an adventure here 98% of the shootings and major crimes in the Panama City area happens in this city, I thought I had seen everything when I worked in Alabama, But the human race down here surprises me every minute of every day.....I do miss the old days when life was simple and your friends were there with nothing but time on your hands...The last time I was in Hueytown for my father’s death five years ago, I did not even recognize Hueytown at all, it has grown so much and changed so much. I tried to find some of my friends and was able to find one of the best Jack Canada, who was doing very well
I Am a Cop
I stand for justice, law and order.
There are many like me within our border.
We are typically seen in uniform carrying a gun
Trying to fix things which can't be undone.
Some of us are deputies, some troopers, some policemen; but all cops
Cleaning up society's mess; could say we are like mops.
Some call us heroes, others our presence detest
They hate what we stand for and the badge on our chest.
We are not superhuman, though our tasks it does demand.
We are required of anything to jump in and take command.
Stay impartial we must; seek facts and stay cool
This is our creed and the standard operating rule.
Why do we do it, this crazy and dangerous job,
One that from your emotions it will surely rob?
The question isn't fair because a job it far exceeds,
Its a profession, a calling, a need to intercede.
Ill give my all to this noble profession of which I have chosen,
Knowing in advance that everyone will not view me as ambrosian.
But I'll be proud of what I do until the day I drop
So with GOD's help and blessings I will always be a cop.
I HAVE SEEN WHAT MOST PEOPLE FEAR
I HAVE BEEN WHERE VERY FEW WILL GO.
I HAVE SERVED IN YOUR CITY.
I PATROLLED YOUR ROAD'S.
I CAME WHEN YOU CALLED.
I SWORE TO PROTECT AND SERVE.
I WORE THE UNIFORM WITH PRIDE AND INTEGRITY.
THE FEAR WAS MINE.
I WAS LOOKING DOWN THE BARREL OF A GUN.
MY HEART RACED AND MY BLOOD POUNDED.
WOULD I MAKE IT HOME TONIGHT?
THEN THE MAN TOOK HIS OWN LIFE AND NOT MINE.
WHEN I GOT HOME,
I LOOKED IN THE MIRROR, I WAS STILL ALIVE
I CRIED TO GOD FOR THIS MAN'S SOUL.
GOD PLEASE TAKE CARE OF HIM,
FOR THE MAN WANTED TO TAKE HIS OWN LIFE.
FOR SOME REASON'S UNKNOWN.
FOR TWO NIGHTS, I THOUGHT ABOUT THIS MAN.
HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
BUT NOW IT IS TIME TO PUT THE UNIFORM ON AGAIN.
EVERYONE ASKS ME AM I OK?
YEA, I SAY BUT IN MY HEART, I AM STILL SCARED.
FOR IT IS TIME FOR ANOTHER TOUR.
IT COULD NOT HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN.
THEN WE GET THAT CALL
AND WE SEE THE MAN.
WE SEE THE BARREL OF HIS GUN POINTED AT HIS HEAD.
WE TRY TO TALK THE GUN OUT OF HIS HAND,
WILL HE MAKES US, HE WANTS TO TAKE US WITH HIM
TO GOD I PRAY PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME HAVE TO SHOOT HIM.
HE THEN CALLED OUT HIS MOTHER NAME.
WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH HIM
DRUNK OR ON DRUGS?
THEN TIME MOVES SO VERY SLOW AND THERE IS NO SOUND
AS THE BARREL OF HIS GUN SLOWLEY COMES DOWN.
I DID WHAT I HAD TO DO, WHAT I WAS TRAINED TO DO
SO I COULD GO HOME
TO MY WIFE, SON AND DAUGHTER
ONE SHOT THEN TWO
HE IS DOWN
EVERYONE IS STILL YELLING FOR HIM TO STAY DOWN
BUT HE DOES SO BECAUSE HE'S DEAD.
THEY THEN TELL US THAT WE DID OUR JOB
THEY SAID WE WHERE BRAVE
THEY THEN GAVE US A MEDAL
I KNEW IT WOULD BE HARD TO FIGHT
TO STAND TALL THREW THE NIGHT.
THE NIGHTMARES ARE HARD TO FIGHT,
THE FLASHBACKS STEAL MY SIGHT
THIS MAN HAS ROBBED ME OF MY LIFE.
I TRY SO HARD TO STAND AND FIGHT,
TO CHASE AWAY ALL OF THE FRIGHT
I TRY WITH ALL MY MIGHT.
TO SEE THE LIGHT OF MY NEW LIFE.
BUT I STILL FIGHT IT EVERY NIGHT
HAD I DIED THAT NIGHT THEY WOULD SAY I WOULD BE A HERO
BUT NOW AFTER ALL IS DONE, I AM A ZERO.
"Give Him a Guardian Angel"
Dear God I know You're busy
With all you have to do,
But if I can have a minute,
I'll try not to ask to much of you.
My husband is a policeman
And as he goes to work each day,
Please send a guardian angel
To walk with Dennis along the way.
When he leaves, I say "Be Careful."
And kiss him on his sweet face,
But I can't be there to watch over him
All the time and in every place.
I know Dennis is just one officer,
But he's serious about his job.
I know he'll try to stop
Those who murder, rape or rob.
I know this may sound selfish
And yes it may be true
But when I think about what he does,
I have to leave it up to You.
If it comes to saving another,
I know he'd give his life.
That's the way my husband's made
And I'm proud to be his wife.
So do me this little favor Lord,
Until you need him there with you.
Send him a guardian angel Lord
To help him make it through.
Sorry, haven't check my site in some time. Glad to see you are doing well. I actually have a very close friend that lives in PC. I visit often. Thank you for all you have done for our country and please send my thanks to your son also. My oldest is currently serving in the USAF stationed in Fort Walton Beach at Eglin Air Force Base. He has done well for himself. Try to continue to stay safe and blessed.

Well, hello, Occifer! I'm glad God looks over fools and you look over the crack heads. Thanks for serving our country and send my best to your son. Don't text and drive and you'll stay out of the ER - love the fender bender photo. I'm having fun in PA - it'll never be as exciting as PC, but I think I like boring. You take care and congrats on all those good looking grandkids.
I sure can't complain, wrong direction there anyway. :) Things are going well, how about you Dennis? Good to hear back from you. How're things with you?
How are you doing? I never did ask you that. Cute pictures! Especially of the tattoos. I am doing ok. I have had 3 heart surgeries. Do you remember me passing out all the time at school? (I don't know if you remember or not), well that was all leading up to my heart problem. I am doing ok now. I am on medication to help me. Please write back!
Hey Dennis...I know you, too! My husband is in a "hazardous" job, also. So I hope that you have got yourself a "prayer warrior" kind of wife, and you for her, so that you can stand in the gap for one another.
May God keep you both safe...take care....Pam
Hi Dennis! Great to hear from you. I, too, was a cop in the lovely city of Birmingham, AL from 1986-1994 when I decided nursing might be better suited for me. And it has been. I miss it sometimes. See you later.
