20 years have slipped by and I am proud to say, as a group we all look pretty doggone good. Yolanda and I had a blast at the Reunion and I thank everyone for keeping the embarassing stories to a minimum.
From blue collar to white collar, from Bank Presidents to those blessed enough to raise their kids full-time, we run the spectrum and all contribute to a greater society because of our collective background.
Hueytown was a special place where I learned to understand that our age group could both elect and support a black President while at the same time fear and misunderstand his intellect and human-ness... yet continue to live, learn and love in spite of our differences.
High school was not always full of smiles and hand holding - but neither is life.
As the years have passed and the weight of our decisions and responsibilities have grown, the memories and lessons carried from the halls of Hueytown have played a large part in what I consider to be a pretty successful life.
I thank all of you for being a part and look forward to many of you continuing to be so...
AW--tanks! You are still such a charmer:) How's life? I hated to miss the reunion--we just moved and I could not pull it together in time. My party clothes were still in boxes somewhere in my dining room--ha ha!
Oh yeah I just realized you called me Malone. Excuse me but I have 3 more years before I will have my married name just as long as my maiden name! Lol! Whew that's deep....
