New blog posted, "I Love You, Too." This one was like pulling a tooth... it hurt like hell, but I feel a lot better now that it's done. Comments welcomed and encouraged.

Wow, for a room full of writers, it sure is quiet over here. I just vented my spleen in my blog, if anyone wants a quick read... "Left And Right".

You guys sure are quiet the last few days.... must be as busy as I've been! Post when ya can. The stuff I'm working on now is still in the scribbles stage, but I'll dig out something or pop off a little experiment or something soon! Have a great weekend everybody!

More of the adventures of Mark & Kevin just posted in my blog, "The Search For Litafatchee."

Don't know that I could call myself a writer, but I've been writing here and there for ages. Mostly for pleasure and therapy. Started writing song lyrics and poetry when I was 12. (Rock star was my first job choice.) I used some of the song lyrics messin' around with the bands I played with in the 80's, and had a couple of little things "published" in very, very small pubs. Mostly, it's just all sitting in my file cabinet and hard drive, though!

Writing for a living is up there in my top three dream jobs.

1. Rock Star /Actress
2. Artist
3. Writer

I found the music business lacking in the 80's. Got kinda tired of the bar scene and working every single weekend while my family and friends got together and relaxed /partied. I had a good time with it while it lasted.

I did manage to make a little money with artistry. Still get to do a little graphics work in my current job. Simple stuff, mostly - nothing great. I was hoping there would be more creative work when I took the job - but ultimately I was looking for *steady* work. At least it's been that so far.

Maybe I'll get to do some more writing before I die. LOL

I don't feel "qualified" to really go for it, and have never been in a financial position where I thought I could devote a load of time to taking classes or really getting serious with it. It keeps crossing my mind, though. Occasionally people will tell me they like the stuff I've written on this site. Occasionally someone says "You should be a writer"... and of course I love that - but I guess I still doubt whether I have the talent to stand up to "real" writers.

I did attempt to write a draft for a "book" a while back. It was a story based on a phase of my own life, so mostly I was just remembering and writing down - no outline, no script, no real plan. That endeavor took quite a while (I was unemployed for a few months), and by the time I finished the 'draft' (if you can even call it that), I had learned three major things.

1. Serious writing is a challenge.
2. Writing a book takes a long, long time.
3. It's good to start with some kind of plan! LOL

So I saved it to a disc and haven't really done anything with it since I went back to work. Quite frankly, the last thing I need is a job /hobby where I spend even MORE time sitting on my wide backside at a computer desk! HA HA HA.... I do enjoy writing little things when I have the time, though. Obviously, I enjoy "yakkin" on here!

I got invited to a writer's training program called the Long Ridge Writer's Group... (anybody ever heard of them?)... but have neither the money nor time to go for that. I don't know if it would be worth the 'tuition', but surely I could learn a lot. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to do such a thing - or just pump up my courage and try submitting some stuff to see what happens.

I'll try to dig some stuff out and post it for y'alls amusement. LOL
Glad we have a human spell-checker, Kevin! hee hee...

I love to write, even worked on a book for a long time and just kind of fell out. If you look at my page you'll see the stuff I enjoy doing now. Not just copying quotes from others but most of the "quotes of the day" are just things I hear or see that day. Usually are silly and some maybe, the only person that thinks they are funny is me, but sometimes that is all that counts. See ya in the funny papers....

Hi-o you guys. Sorry I haven't been around lately. I have too much happening at home and not enough time in cyber-space.

LOVE to write even emails. GUILTY of not doing it because it is so exacting!

Hi Pam -- I'm currently noodling around with a short story idea... as soon as some of the noodles are done, so to speak, I'll put 'em up here.
