I started out in the FBLA in Mrs. Coleman's class in 1996, and was also in her class in 1997, and I also had Ms. Matthews, and Ms. Hunter. They were all a blast to me! Thanks to them, I can type up a storm today. hehe

'74-76 we had ONE IBM Selectric that we took turns using, then 1/2 the room had Royal electric typewriters, the other half manuals. Barbara Creel was the fastest typist. One time I typed 100wpm on a 1-minute timed writing, but I guess I had it memorized. I disliked shorthand, but got a job at U.S.Pipe once just because I knew it. Mrs. McCrorie was so nice in BOE and she also taught us business etiquette, and even how to write checks!

I attempted to use shorthand after high school when taking dictation for my boss. The funny thing was when I went to type the actual letter for my boss I couldn't figure out what some of my notes were.

I was President of Future Business Leaders in 1964. I remember the typewriters also but much prefer typing when I can hit spell check or back space instead of having to put that correct all stuff on. Lynn (Penny) Crim
