HEY! I want to join, too. I'm brave and if I ever offend anyone, it probably means I've had over 2 glasses of wine. I love God and I'm a bleeding heart liberal Episcopalian who loves Maxine, TINA! I get into lots of trouble with my BIG mouth even when I'm trying to be kind. I think that's important. Life is INCREDIBLY SHORT so try to be kind. I love Marianne Williamson and if you haven't read any of her writings, I'll send you a link. I've known about her for YEARS and now she has a daily message you can sign up for on OPRAH's website. Sorry, but I love Oprah. Also, I believe in Peace, Love, Kindness, and the Holy Spirit's active participation in our lives. I believe in Miracles and Prayer. This is all off the top of my head because I'm late for a busy day. Most importantly, I believe in forgiveness because I have been forgiven by so many as well as God. I believe Forgiveness is a way of life, not an act. It sure makes life easier, too. Gotta go. I'll read all of your entries and hopefuly get to know some of you/ more of you later. I hope you all have the best day ever and every day afterwards is a good one. I type fast and read a lot!!! I'm vegan, old fat, grandmother and prefer organic and music, chocolate and wine.

Hi Randy. I believe in Peace, Love, and Freedom, too. Why? I have learned that operating under these principles brings happiness and comfort to me and those around me. I believe God loves me and you. Why? I feel His love. I also feel the devil's glee if I go against the laws of nature, and consequentially, of man.
I too, have been a soul-searcher and a free-thinker. I defend your right to do so. I have tried other ways of living, I have put my "faith" in people, situations, mind-altering substances, money. None of those things brought me the peace of mind that I have found within God and His hope.
I'm sorry you feel you've been overexposed to Religion. As a teenager I rejected God because of those reasons, too. I was never one to do as I was told and never thought I would conform to a normal stable lifestyle. But, maybe all the elders were right after all. In the 70's we were told, "If it feels good, do it." This feels good to me.

Valerie:
Even more.
Do you really believe in this country/
What about the principles it "stands" on?
Freedom of religion? DO you believe in frredom of all people to "believe" as they wish? Muslims? Buddhists? Jews? Or do you condemn them all because they don't believe as you do?
Have you ever considered your own religion that was spoon fed to you since babyhood?
Have you ever thought IF there really was a God? or a Satan? or a Jesus? or Angels? or Demons?
Do you understand faith and belief? Do you understand that belief is simply to "accept an idea as true whether it is or not"?
And what is hell? What is heaven? Where are they?
And there may be a "race" of gods that created or designed us that are aliens, and if so, they are our superiors.
And here is my point :
Nothing about beliefs are factual. Or proven.
So to live by them as if they were the Laws of the Cosmos, is absurd. And how many prayers have come true. Sure everyone has their stories. And I have mine. But how many haven't come true?
And why would you condemn anyone based on your religious viewpoint anyway?
How many Chinese, Japanese, Indians, etc. have lived on this planet w/out your beliefs, and lived good honorable lives as humans and for their fellow man, and done good?
Pleas egive all this some thought, if ya dare.
And you can even get more info at www.mirc.com - d/l the program, and visit DalNet #christiandebate - you'd be amazed at how much you could learn.
And btw - I Love you my sister on the same planet.

Also, Hi Chuck
I have been sorta busy, but will try to "catch up" w/ ya'll some more.
I live for freedom of speech and expression of ideas.
But also realize, I have personally studied much, and reached my own conclusions, even if contrary to the popular "beliefs" of the day.
That has been my life for most of it.
But may Karma & the stars Smile on you, as we move forward w/ our lives until death.
Love & Peace
Randy

Valerie Isette.
Good day to you ma'am.
No, we don't know each other. And maybe we should.
I have been a christian since age 12, when I first got "saved".
And struggled w/ christianity ever since, moving from baptist to church of god & church of christ, and even some non-demoniational churches.
And when I hit my 30's, and got on the internet, and met my first atheist, I debated from the christian perspective for like a year. In favor of God and christian "beliefs".
And then it took me over 5 years to break free from the christian beliefs. And much struggle, fear, guilt, and shame socially - because of the taboo of proclaiming "no beliefs".
A lil' background :
I went to FL in 2000, and was on the run from the law.
I met a girl and moved in w/ her for 2 1/2 years in Tallahassee.
Then I went to Pensacola for 4 1/2 years. I lived homeless for the whole time, even tho' I was employed doing Land Surverying for 3 1/2 of those years. Lived outside, on the beach, and anywhere I could.
But I heard more gospel than a human ever should. It was shoved down my throat before I could even eat most of the time, and I was hungry alot of those times too. And "the word" didn't feed me or even satisfy my "soul" anymore than sex, or consumerism does.
I have since done much study on the Illuminati, the origin of Paulism, the Kabbalah, etc., and I simply don't "believe" any of it anymore. It'a all a lie to strangle & brainwash the masses. And thank the stars I found MY out. And if you need religion or "a relationship w/ an Invisible, non-speaking God" - go right ahead. Lord knows we don't ned any more evil people in the world, and if it keeps you nice. Good!
I can be a true human w/ niceness, and civil obediance, and charity w/out Jesus, or God, or the opposite evil influence of Satan - which is a lie also. None of this stuff as ideas exist or ever existed. It's simply a "BELIEF", and if it was true, wouldn't it be a fact, and have no need of faith or beliefism in it?
If you wish to chat more on this subject - go for it. I may find the time to continue here, but I am living my life in the Zen present oo much to come here alot.
btw, I am glad so many have made a "home" here and decided to chat, and share ideas, because that is what FREEDOM is all anout - an open forum for the sharing of ideas.
Thanks for sharing your ONE idea about reality.
There are many.
Love & Peace no matter what is REALLY beyond this plane of existence.
Your friend.

Valerie, thank you for participating in our discussions about God. Please don't take this the wrong way but I feel I must caution you about judging our atheist classmate so harshly. A passage which come to mind is from Luke 18:9-14.
With kindest regards, Chuck
