I like this group! I was skinny for many years and have dieted all my life!! I'd just rather read than exercise! Still, we must stay healthy! Hope all of you are doing well.

Renee,
I haven't been back there in years, but I will go look as soon as I can..I do remember drinking sassafras tea, especially when coming down with a cold.

Does anyone know if the Sassafras trees are still standing back near the ball diamond? You know the trees with the leaves shaoed like hands an mittens.

Ms Flynn once said that a child learned better with homework than classwork!

Does anyone remember the enormous amount of homework that Mrs. Flynn gave us in 6th grade? She was tough!

I went to HES from 4th grade through 6th (6th was at Old Pittman under the bleachers). 1969-1972.

I had Mrs Stevens for 4th grade, Mrs Hinz for 5th, and Mrs Rutledge (my first black teacher) for 6th. I loved my history teacher. Does anyone remeber making salt maps of Alabama showing the Indian tribes and De-Soto's route?

That would be me - husky. I was husky in elementary school and middle school, thin in high school and then husky again when I got to be about 25 - 30. So, still am, just fat and happy. LOVE being a Grandma!!!
