David painted a picture in art class at Pittman in the 8th grade that was so good it put all of us to shame. I will never forget that. It really was good. Trees and hills and a stream. He always made me and my sister Kelly laugh in High School. Seems like everytime I saw him he was laughing or joking about something. He really was a great guy.

David was my cousin and one of my first loves. I babysat David and Robert for many, many years and have many fond memories of him. He was always on the go and full of a sweet spirit.
Up to the end, he was a strong Christian, loving husband and great father. I miss him terribly but know that he is in heaven now. It is sad for us as we can no longer witness his strength and love.
He has left a huge hole in all of our hearts.
All my love, Karen

I didn't know David that much, but I loved his mother to death. I know she misses him every second of every day. I do know that David was a great man and comes from a wonderful family. He will always be missed by me and my family.

I never actually knew David, but I went to his funeral with his cousin. Later, I was blessed to come to know his mom and dad. They have become dear friends to me and their Christian walk has blessed my life. Although they miss their son, they know they will be with him again, for eternity.

Remembering Dave

I'll always remember David for his upbeat personality and his sense of humor. His large ears earned him the nickname RADAR and he always took that in stride. I remember the time when a bunch of us were playing backyard football at Pittman Middle School and Dave and Scott Smitherman "Smitty" collided-unfortunately Scott was cut under one of his eyes on his cheek by the side of Davids Head-I can't remember who but someone made the joke that Daves ear or "THE RADAR DISH" had cut Scott's cheek. Luckily Scott was ok but I still think back and laugh about that moment and am saddened by it as well.

Your friends miss you Dave and our Hearts go out to your family.

We Love you

I have been out of touch for way too long.

I am very saddened by finding out about this.

I had no idea that David has passed. He and my brother (Brent) were in boy scouts together for years! I can't even remember David with out a smile. He and his parents were always such a big part of the Scouts and probably whay the Hueytown chapter was so successful.

My buddy and cousin David . Yes you all are right he will be missed but along with my cousin Robert we both named our sons after David . So in a wayDavid is still with us as he should be. I couldnt couldnt consider anything else a higher honor than to have my son named after one of the greatest guys I will ever have known.I also have another cousin who we lost the same year, his name was Greg Hyche . If I have another boy I will be lucky to have the honor of naming him after Greg. My wife made a comment to me as we were driving in the funneral to Glens grave site that I am too young to know so many people who have passed . Please keep good health and be careful , Always remember to let people know you Love them and never leave things on bad terms . You never know when you might be seeing them for the last time. Thank you for honoring my cousin David he was a great man and he will forever be missed .God bless everybody , HE surely has blessed me
