What a unique time we shared at HHS. I came from a very small Jr. High School (McNeil) and enjoyed so much meeting and becoming friends with so many new kids. After going to school with the same people for 9 years, it was good to be able to start over. If I wet my pants in 1st grade nobody knew it. If the resident bully embarrased me, nobody knew it. If I was known only as the nice chubby kid, nobody knew it. If I scored for the wrong team in a basketball game, nobody knew it. If I practiced my dance moves in the restroom and still did not have the courage to try them out at the "sock hop", noboby knew it. I got a chance to start over and I think I made the most of it. I met some wonderful people and had a great time. I fell in love with every girl at school. We had our share of cuties at McNeil, but my goodness, as a 14 year old, I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I arrived at HHS. It was neat how kids from so many different Jr. High schools came together as a group. Some were forever stuck in their cliques, but for the most part everyone was so accepting and friendly. Maybe everyone got a chane to start over like me and made the most of it. Thanks to all you good guys and gals who reached out and becames friends. Thanks for making my high school days wonderful. We had some great kids that I am sure have moved on to become great people. You know who you are -- Thanks.

I just heard about this site a couple of days ago. A great way to stay in touch with old friends. Maybe more people will find out about this site soon. I have great memories from HHS!

Great to reconnect with so many friends from HS. It certainly doesn't seem like 30+ years since we graduated! I live in Atlanta, GA, but visit Birmingham often to visit my parents and sisters. I have 1 son, he is married and I have 3 of the most beautiful grandbabies! But then again we all say that about ours don't we. :)

I'm with Rhonda. I thought we had the largest graduating class for HHS. I have a lot of good memories from school. Where is everyone from our class. I would have thought there would be many more on here than I see. I wasn't at the top of the class so most of you probably wouldn't remember me even though I might remember you. I was always a bit shy and didn't participate in many activities so I just watched everyone from the sidelines. I had two older sisters that were a part of the class of 1971, Kathy and Elizabeth Black. My sister Elizabeth passed away in 1971 and Kathy graduated that year. I would love to hear from others!

Didn't we have the last of the big graduating classes at HHS? After our graduation Pleasant Grove and Midfield had their own schools. We were like 500 + strong if my memory serves me right. I am still around. I am in PG now so not too far from where I grew up.

Hello everyone. I just happened up on this website and group. HHS was the best time! Met wonderful people and had a wonderful time. 1972 grads need to get on here. I rock in my chair, too!
