I'm so sad to post this message but wanted all who knew Suzi to know of her passing. She passed away this evening around 6 pm. She was a Type I diabetic and had been since she was 11 years old. She fought many battles with her health over the years including 2 kidney transplants, she was legally blind and most recently became unable to get around. She suffered a stroke today which ended her life. The good news is that she is healed today, fully. She knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and I know she is in a wonderful place! This gives us peace but still, we will miss her dearly.
ARRANGEMENTS: Sunday, August 2nd visitation 6-8 pm, Brown Service (Bessemer), Funeral Monday, August 3rd also Brown Service 2:00pm.
Please continue to keep her husband Dwayne and our family in your prayers.
My heartfelt sympathy for her husband, for you and for your family in the loss of your dear loved one. Prayers too for comfort and strength as you all adjust to her homegoing, where she is now resting in the presence of our Lord and Saviour. God bless you all.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Dwayne and the entire family. I've known Suzi since Junior High School and have always considered her a close and dear friend. Suzi will be GREATLY MISSED!
I received the news of Suzi's passing from Beth (McCay) earlier this morning. I'm so saddened by her passing. We've known each other since Jr. high and we are both Suzi's (spelled the same way too)...we always thought that it was pretty cool. We kept in touch on and off over the years and I know the many challenges she faced. Even through those challenges she still kept such a sweet spirit about her and she was a fighther!! My prayers go out to her family and friends during this time. I will continue to lift you all up in my prayers. I pray that our Lord will wrap you in his arms and bring you peace and comfort like no one else can. Suzi will be greatly missed by many!
Lord bless & keep each of you!

I have a cousin in FL who is also Type 1 and was onset at age 7, plus both of my Grandmothers passed of Diabetic complications, so as I listed at Facebook, this hits close to home, as the old saying goes. ...KC
Dwayne & Angela, Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Suzi was a good friend whose kindness, smile & laughter will live on with us forever.
My sympathies are with your family. I believe my brother, Joey Benton, went to school with her since Mrs. Carroll's kindergarten. I know he did from Middle School on. I remember him talking about her and the two of them teasing each other.
I will miss Suzi more than can be imagined. We were very good friends before, during, and after our marriage. Dwayne and I have also become good friends over the last few years, and hope to continue the friendship. To Angela, Susan, Jerry, and the rest of her extended family, I loved Suzi with all my heart. I spoke with her many times on the phone and in person over the last few years, and always found a way to make her smile and laugh no matter how bad she felt. My prayers and thoughts are going out to Suzi's entire family. God Bless You Suzi, I will miss you, and I Love You.
My dear Suzi,
I am so sorry I was unable to be there this weekend.
I remember the day you walked up to me & told me you were my cousin.
I will always remember & will always miss you.
I will especially miss our long talk's over the phone.
May GOD keep you very close & be with your loved one's, especially Dwayne.
We will all be together again soon enough.
I Love You.
