Yep, "Letter From Camp" was the title of the 45 rpm novelty record that young guitarist Allen Collins would play over and over to the point of getting his ears boxed by the others. This was in their My Backyard and One Percent band names era. Besides the "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" line there was. "Leonard Skinner, was a winner, he was poisioned, by his dinner." ...KC
Three or so months before the Oct. 20. 1977 Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash that ended the lives of vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and his sister backup singer Cassie Gaines plus road manager, pilot and co-pilot, ANOTHER U.S. band of stature was to have chartered the same plane before a very sharp and valued employee said he would resign IMMEDIATELY if they did so. Name this million-selling band that's still together with all original members. ...GO!
Was indeed Aerosmith, Tim Clark. As a LS band crew crash survivor told LS "management", you don't put a million dollar band on a $99 airplane, or words to that effect.
